How the sale price is calculated
The amount you save is the original price multiplied by the discount rate expressed as a decimal. Subtracting that saving from the original price gives the sale price. The discount applies to the whole price and does not include any sales tax.
You save = Original price × (Discount % ÷ 100)Sale price = Original price − You save$120 item at 25% off
A $120.00 item with a 25% discount saves you $30.00 (120 × 0.25). Subtracting that from the original price gives a sale price of $90.00 ($120.00 − $30.00).

Discount FAQ
Does the sale price include tax?
No. This shows the pre-tax sale price. Any sales tax is applied by the retailer on top of the discounted price at checkout.
How do I stack two discounts?
Stacked discounts usually apply one after another, not added together. Calculate the first discount, then run the resulting sale price back through with the second percentage.
