Grade calculators fail people at the worst possible moment, usually by assuming a scheme that is not the one on the syllabus. Weighted categories are not the same as weighted points; a dropped-lowest-score rule changes the answer; and "what do I need on the final" depends entirely on whether the final replaces a lower grade or simply adds to the pile.

These tools ask for the scheme rather than assuming it, and show the working so you can check it against your syllabus before you trust it. The letter-grade cutoffs are adjustable, because a 93 is an A at some schools and an A− at others.
